98 auto trams lost 3rd and D

Its NOT GOING TO BE CHEAP LABOR WISE!!You could purchase a already bullet proof tranny and install it at home. Then turn you old trans in as a core. That will get you back on the road the fastest.
Contact Rick Kim http://www.rkt56.com/ He will give you many options and help you decide the best route to take. Give him a call and discuss the options.
Excellent people and products!

Here is what causes most of the L460 trans issues:
This vid details how to get the most out of your up grades and what parts to get so it doesn't happen again. Discuss this with your shop and see HOW MUCH MORE your service will cost you and if they will even do it:
Here is another video that discusses ALL the parts that get replaced and things the repair shop should know to replace. It may cost you extra cash to get some of the parts but, it worth it IMHO.
Get ya some IMPROVED AC DELCO parts:
EVEN BETTER Sun shell parts:
So,, now your armed with a little extra knowledge on WHY your trans failed and what you need to make sure that the shop does to get you back on the road and keep you there.
Another note of recommendation. You will have the Torque tube out or very close to it. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you have the rubber couplers inside the Torque Tube replaced with some new OEM GM RUBBER COUPLERS! EVERY C5 Automatic that I have serviced have had seriously deteriorated couplers just waiting to POP.
Its not that difficult of a job and shouldn't cost much more as the drive train is already being serviced.
