I would post this in the nitrous section, but I need answers right now dam it! :D :D I just hooked up my window switch, as well I my TPS switch, if I want to test the solenoids with the car not running, will the solenoids open even though the engine is not at the minimum 3000 RPM as set on my window switch? Thanks!

NO!!!
you need to rev the engine to get over the 3000rpm, otherwise the solenoids would not open.
No, if you have it hooked up through the rpm switch, the solenoids will not open until you hit your 3000 rpm. If you want to just test them, have someone else sit in the car and rev it, and have your hand on the solenoid, you can feel it when it comes on. (just dont have the bottle hooked up...if it is a wet kit, then you will also need to disconnect the fuel line to make sure you dont put fuel into the intake during the testing process.
Crap, i just noticed, you have a tps switch also, the only way to test it with all that is to go out on the road with a bottle and see if it works...and hold on ;)
OK, but I have a TPS switch so the throttle would have to be pinned to the floor for a few seconds to test this. Is there any way to bypass the window switch just to test it when the car is off? Thanks! *oops, I see you edited your post which looks like it just answered my question, Thanks! Darn, I am not ready to test it on the road yet. Still have to put the new plugs in, still waiting for the fuel saftey switch and a couple of other things. :( :cuss I was having a few issues with the solenoids and I changed some wiring as well as hooking up the window switch and the TPS switch, now I don't know if I solved my original problem with out testing. I should of paid somebody to do this for me, I have a headache! :D
If you want to bypass the window switch (ie re wire) then you can do it. I checked mine before i had everything hooked up with a battery, touched one wire to the positive, and tapped the other wire to the neg. terminal...if it clicks, then it works... Is this a NEW system? If it is, then i wouldnt worry about it too much, just find an empty road to test...do a short test run with just a couple seconds. If it is working, you will know
The system was 3 months old when I bought it. It is a two stage which made it a bit more complicated for me to hook up. Maybe I will just take it out and give it a little shot like you say. I know the solenoids work, I was blowing the relay fuse, and I am not sure why, I did some rewiring and upped the fuse from a 15 amp to a 30 amp (will be using a 25 amp fuse but I have to go get some).
Am I missing something?.. why don't you just put the car in neutral, mash the pedal and rev the engine past 3 grand? A tps switch works very quickly, you won't need more than a second of WOT.
Just make sure the n20 bottle is empty, the fuel line is unhooked and that you spray the gas into a bucket or something.
No, your not missing anything. I can do that but it will either be my wife mashing the throttle :nono: or her watching the solenoids :nono: Now do you understand why I would like to do it with the car shut off? :D
i have a purge button on my system that overides the other two switches but the arming switch must be on to power the system up. I test my solenoids all the time just to make sure they still click with car off and always test the fuel solenoid before opening the nitrous bottle. I purge mine into the motor. pretty trick
good luck, i understand what you mean about the wife.

I have a purge kit coming any day, I guess I could do that too, but I don't know if that would tell me if I had my first stage working properly or not. Pretty soon I am going to throw the two stage idea in the toilet and just run one set of solenoids! :mad :mad
i've never ran a two stage nitrous systems but I've thought about it. You could wire your purge button to both pair of solenoids and test the entire system at once. What type of system are you running and what size shots are you anticipated. If it is a dry system, I hope you plan to run a bigger fuel pump and larger fuel injectors.
Sounds like a good set-up, it should work out great for you. I guess the first stage is actived by MSD in combination with TPS and second shot is activated by some form of hand held activation button. What year vette and what mods if any.
That is right, but the second button (shifter) also only works if the first stage is spraying. The only mods I have are Halltech intake and I have Stainless Works LT headers on order. It's an 02 Z06.
