Default Ls1 intake manifold gasket

I seem to be lost. First ls1 but worked on old 350s. Confused on the manifold gasket. I have a 2004 removed intake to replace air check valve. Tough. But when the intake was removed i saw no gasket. New fel pro intake set has individual seals. There larger then the intakes runners. Dont lock in anywhere. I really seem confused at this moment. I look on web sites. I see them already on some intake but not as to how they were attached? Hope u could shead some light.

In the pic below, you can see the eight individual gray intake manifold gaskets for an LS1 and an LS6 manifold pressed into the pockets surrounding the runner openings. They pop out easily with a small screw driver. To install, they only go in one way once you have the small corner tab oriented properly. Very easy.

Pretty easy.. Pop out the old ones and clean out the channel. Use a little soapy water and align up the little TAB with the slot in the channel. SQUEEZE the gasket into the channel with your thumbs. and then work them in until there uniformly in the channel:

Requires NO sealer. Just make SURE that you PROPERLY torque the intake manifold bolts and in the correct pattern.

You will notice that the old one have (usually have) little or ON stand out and they will be HARD! SO,, that makes the seal between the head and intake POOR!

The new ones will have lots of stand out AND, are soft and pliable.

NOTE! Once you install the new ones they will be REUSEABLE for quite a while.
