Default Intake ???

Here's what I have ,,2000 LS1 AI HC219's , 10.8-1 ,232/236 595/605/114 , LS6 intake , PP TB 78mm , stock MAF , Kooks LT's , X-pipe and OBX axle back , A4 ,3.42's. Making 405 rwhp . My question is , Would I benefit by installing a new intake ,MAF and TB to get me a few more Ponies or would $$ value be worth it ...and if so what would you suggest ..TIA...xzo

Default just do it

Is it worth it? Just do it. Thats my next purchase. I was going to do the supercharger. But the wife said I should just get a newer z06 if I'm going to be spending that much. I just bought the breathless headlights. If I had not bought the lights I would have bought the fast intake and th ls2 tb. Maybe next month. But just do it. From what I've read it makes the buyer happy and the numbers, well it's a whole different story. Might pick up what you need in numbers. Might get you upset. So with that said. Buy a supercharger or be happy with the cool looking fast intake.

Default forgot

I'm at 417 to the wheels. I know the motor I had built will handle 900 hp. But im happy with where she is. I rip through the highways and go through most newer cars I have encountered. Maybe I'll change the top end completely and wake this baby up without a supercharger. I'm too much into the ride that it would **** me off by adding a sc. Never say never.

NO NO NO---- There is NO HP advantage by installing an aftermarket MAF or a larger T-Body---The stock MAF on your car screen and all is good for apprx 500-525 crank HP--
You may gain maybe 3-5 RWHP with a larger T-Body but to me that mod is simply NOT worth the effort as it causes so many other issues and can screw up your drivability
Looking at your car it is very similar to what my 98 was--- that car of mine ran 12.0 in the 1/4 mile
What you need is a STALL converter---That is the best mod you can do on any car with an automatic trans--- You are pretty much done what you can do with your engine
But a stall converter can make your car a beast off the line and up to 1/2 second quicker in the 1/4 mile without even touching your engine---
I would get a stall no less than a 3000---anything below that is a re-worked stock converter and it will not hold up at 405 RWHP----3000 is a complete new small diameter unit that is robust and can handle your HP----A Yank or high quality one costs about $900 but you'll love it and it will be the best mod you can do with all your existing mods--- Of course I am assuming you had your car tuned after the cam and LT headers

I would call Yank and talk to them concerning the proper torq
converter. Just for useless info they recommended a SS2800
Yank for my 700 plus hp small block. Check with the pro's --
call them.

With those mods,,

feeder82 Said "Fast intake $850 throttle body $400 gm maf $125 gaskets fuel rails ?
Maybe 10 to 15rwhp. Is it worth it?

AND,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, you will need a complete new TUNE to get the MOST out of thoses mods!

READ $$$$$$$$ $400 - $500 $$$$$$$$

A new Torque Converter will ALSO require some PCM TUNING to make the A4 trans shift and work properly!!

NOTE! A different MAF,, will do little or nothing for more power. The TB isn't limiting your power either.

02 MN12 trans with 342 rear. I have Patriot Stage 2 heads, 240 ish duration, 610 lift and 114+4 CAM, Self Ported FAST 90, Self Ported 90mm TB, Vararam, Stainless Works 1 3/4 Primary headers, complete stainless works 3" exhaust system. I make 450 to the rear wheels.

You will be 2 grand into a FAST setup, for nothing. cause I sure as hell can't tell the difference in 10 rear wheel hp.

I still wont even pony up the cash for a FAST intake on my FI 800+ rwhp setup, cause to me it is simply not worth it, and won't be on any car I ever own.

I suggest you spend you coin in a decent stall, and if that still doesn't do it for you, throw a 125 shot on it.
