Attached (hopefully) is a photo of the underside of my passenger side seat (98 C5). There are 2 lead screws visible, which I presume tilt the seat forward and backward. The lower screw (as seen in the picture) has a "c" shaped piece of white plastic wrapped around the screw, between the drive transmission and the white yoke at the end of the lead screw. This "c" piece shows in the picture as 2 white squares on either side of the screw because I rotated it so that the gap in the "c" is facing the camera.
So, is this "c" supposed to be a complete circle that has broken? Is there supposed to be one on the upper screw? What is its function?
I hope that my descriptions make sense. The seat is out for upholstery and to fix the rocking seat problem.
