Default Headlight Actuator-Help

I've been having some trouble with the original driver's side headlight actuator (part # 16530235LH) on my 2002 convertible. I've replaced the actuator gear twice using two different epoxy glues. Neither glue held the black plastic housing properly causing it to release and the dried glue damaged the new gear. Do any members know the proper glue to use on the black housing? I have GM's replacement for the driver's side headlight actuator (part # 19207409) but have been told the speed of the new motor they use may be slightly different from the original. Any member feedback on that?

Thank You!

Try contacting someone at Rodney Dickman....they make the kit that contains the epoxy/glue. Mine has held for over four years now.

I've used Rhino Glue with no issues. I've used this same glue to fix my convertible top window. Great stuff.

There is a gear kit that has a bracket that holds the gearbox together so it won't come apart. Take a search for that kit and either buy one or fabricate something similar.

Get this kit (pay attention because there are 2 different kits: one for "97 to early 2000" and another for "late 2000 to 2004"). The second one includes the reinforcing bracket mentioned above.

There is a TSB, that calls for shimming the driver's side motor. The parts needed for this are also included in the kit.
