hi I would like to pull the trigger on the hinson long tubes but I am not sure cause there are no cats what would be the difference with or with out cats thank you
Headers don't have cats. The cats are located on the mid-pipe. Stock is an H-pipe and aftermarket is nearly always an X-pipe. If you are ordering a complete kit (headers and mid pipe) you can order either way, with cats or without. Some decisions have to be made where local laws and/or emissions tests require cats. If they're not required, no cats will give you a few more ponies because of less flow restriction. GL and keep us updated on what you decide. On a side note, in the past some users wtihout cats have noticed a slight "gas" smell which was probably caused by unburnt fuel. Your mileage can vary on this.
So essentially; pollution (no cats = bad air), smell (sometimes car will smell gassy, not everybody notices this it seems), very slight performance (very slight) and I'll add noise (no cats will be a fair bit louder).
so the kit from hinson is headers x pipe all the way to the axel back and its ceramic and powder coated no cats. good deal for a lil over $800 so if I chose to add high flow cats I would add them in before the x pipe and to buy those it wont be cheep does this sound rite
You can just purchase HEADERS for an engine. That leaves it up to you to connect them to the rest of the cars exhaust.
Most headers come with a MID PIPE. The mid Pipe can have CATs or NO CATs.
CATs reduces emissions of three harmful compounds found in car exhaust: carbon monoxide (a poisonous gas) nitrogen oxides (a cause of smog and acid rain) hydrocarbons (a cause of smog)
Without CATs,, You will notice a significant increase (what you are use to) in exhaust smell.
Here is a Stainless Works SYSTEM withRandontech High Efficiency CATS between the headers and mid pipe. The mid pipe has an added X pipe:
Here is a STOCK OEM Midpipe with OEM CATs:
Here is a set of XS Power Headers with the midpipe in an X pipe configuration with CATs:

Get the hi flow cats.Do you want your wife, girlfriend or Mother complaining about the car stinking up their clothes ,hair etc?You may sacrifice 3 hp,get the hi flow cats.
I am also considering Hinson, but they do not offer cats as an option. They told me they
will, but are not in a hurry because they are selling lots of sets now. I could swap out for
the catted x-pipe when they come out......or order a set of XSpower with cats.
I also wish Hinson offered silver ceramic, not just black.
yes I agree I also spoke with chris today the silver coated color would be nice .he did say that if you are getting cats just for smell reasons that would be more of a tune issue (gas smell etc ) he also no cats will be louder. imo xs power will turn color

I still want the cats. I do not have to have them for emissions, but if I
sell the car, it may be an issue for the buyer. If I bought XS power, I would get them ceramic coated .
Cat-less and love it. I read all sorts of posts about a bad or excessive exhaust smell and it had me worried about the purchase I had made and was waiting to receive. I bought a used Stainless Works header to tailpipe cat-less system off the forum.......and THEN read all the naysayers remarks. The thing about all those remarks was that those weren't from anyone who actually ran a cat-less system.
I also read about drone and it being super loud.
ZERO drone and only really loud at wot. It is for sure louder during moderate driving, but I have no problem hearing while on my phone or having a conversation with my passenger.
If you're not looking for every bit of performance out of your set up, go without cats. If you just want a little more flow and better sound quality than stock, go with cats.
One other thing, the headers were a 'natural' finish, not painted or coated and I added titanium exhaust wrap and then sprayed with high temp silicon spray, both by DEI. I saved a ton of $$ with the wrap and it looks bad ***......I'm not a big fan of shiney stuff that doesn't make the car faster, so the wrap was a good alternative to the ceramic coating.
Just my opinion, but it's the opinion of someone who actually has run both types of exhaust set ups.
