The replacement mast is available from several sources, one being Mid America. The base that it mounts to is another issue altogether. I suspect it is NLA from GM but I might be wrong. Could try a salvage yard or Marc at Vettenuts. They have a website:
After install, I found the radio works just fine in the down position when in non rural areas and it stops the antenna from going up when playing CD's.
My antenna started to stick, and I found out you can drill the fastener points on the antenna case, and get to the mechanism. It's really simple, and I found mine was nasty chunky dirty inside. Cleaned it, new lithium grease, reassembled with screws to replace the drilled plastic fastener points, and it works like a champ. Enough dirt in the mechanism will jam the mast, even ff the motor runs.... You access it through the rear taillight holes. Best of luck...
I can’t say I care listen to anything I need an antenna for. No more talk or commercials.
I have Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth so I get better music and Nav and the OE antenna is unplugged. Kind of like ashtrays. It’s there but not needed anymore
