there is one drawback however. And that is that the face of the radio is convex and at almost all angles the reflection from the rear glass makes it impossible to read the screen on the HU.

This only occurs during daylight of course

Make sure you connect the "ant" wire from the HU to the dark green wire (pin #8) on the radio C1 connector. this fires a relay for the antenna amplifier in the car. At least on my 2001 coupe it does.

Mine's a few years old but I have the Kenwood X994 and it sounds great. Sometime is hard to read the display but other than that its great.

My entire system just died one morning. Went to the dealership. Took them a month to find a stock new one. Put it in and the CD did not work. They put it back in so I would at least have a radio. One month later they located another one. Installed it and now all is good. GMPP warranty covered it. Otherwise the cost is $1,500.
