All lights work, steering wheel is unlocked, turn key on and all dash lights go out. Try to star and have nothing. Head lights stay on when trying to start.
Have you removed the battery and had it tested as suggested? If not you are wasting your time trying to troubleshoot the problem. Your fault codes tell you your battery has a problem and you have communication issues. Get the battery checked and replaced if required then post back.

Well you didn't get all the codes that your first post indicated but the BCM code in your later post (B2723) says that there was a "pass Key Detection" error.
That would certainly cause the no crank symptom that you experienced.
Pass Key error means that the sensor inside the ignition cylinder did NOT read the pellet on your key correctly. The result of that is the computer disables the starter. Basically the computer thinks someone without the correct key is trying to start/steal the car.
I suggest that you definitely have the battery tested at a local parts store. More than one false codes can be set by a weak or bad battery or loose or corroded battery cable connections.
Once the battery is known good, if you have a repeat of the "no crank" condition, use your backup key to try to start the car. The pellet on your primary key may be dirty or tarnished or bad and is causing the no crank.
If the problem continues with a good battery and the backup key, you may have a damaged sensor inside the ignition cylinder.
Post back your results. If the no crank continues I or others can point you in the direction of how to replace the ignition cylinder.
Battery tested bad. Bought a new battery had the same results no crank. Will checks codes again when I get home. At hospital w/wife for MRI..
I'm thinking now probably lotion cylinder. Will let you know.
I've been experiencing the same problem, dash lights work fine but when I turn the key to start everything went dim! I've been messing with this thing for 3 days doing research, thought it might be the BCM, but I'm glad I came to this post. I've followed Bill Curlee's instructions for cleaning all the grounds, and checking battery cables. I went to the Chevy "Stealership" where I purchased the battery on May 10, 2018 and they put a load test on the battery, the battery is rated a 700 CCA and it was showing 072 CCA on the tester! I handed them my original receipt and they gave me a new battery which I installed, and my Vette is now running again which caused me to break into my happy dance! I'm so thankful for a great group on this forum for all the help you provide to we who are less knowledgeable, and a special thanks to Bill Curlee.
Been quite a few batteries dying a early death lately, I think there's a quality issue going on. My Interstate 6 year guaranteed battery didn't last 2. My daily driver battery died 2 months from new a while back. Something doesn't seem right.
