LMFAO! When my Z was STOCK, I could shift into 6th at 25- 30 MPH and the engine would NOT complain one bit. It didn't have any TORQUE but, you could use that gear.

I considered buying the extra part , from reading here, back when I first bought the car.
However my car doesn't sound like it is in the right power band if I keep the revs down enough to activate the shift block. I know it is not designed as a high rev screamer, but I like to at least let the thing breath a little before the next shift.

Disconnected ours almost right away. I had the CAGS bypass kit in hand before the car showed up. For me, it was a matter of principle - I ordered a MANUAL transmission, meaning I get to choose what gear and when.
I will often "skip shifts" when just cruising around: 1st to 3rd; 1st to 4th; 3rd to 5th; and even 1st or 2nd to 5th.
