Ok fellas I'm finally home from my adventures down range. Me and friend have started ripping the console apart to change this damn SWPS. Well I followed these steps https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-sensor-2.html and the lock locked. BUT the steering wheel still moves. I did have the first recall done years ago but I didn't think it removed the locking plate??? Well we are kind of stuck as to what we can do to prevent the steering wheel from moving. Any thoughts?
As you can see I used duck tape via Bill Curlee. Me and my buddy had to be very careful taking out the column. It DEFINITLEY would have moved without the tape. Even though there was of us, it would have not been good. I also suggest to those that if, like me, your steering wheel wont lock, I HIGHLY recommend a partner. Without his help it could have been disastrous. But as always the forum came through again for me!!!!!. Took her for a drive and no code came back. It has been failing as soon as I pull out of my neighborhood.
