That's good news! And so far no charging fault messages or anything, right? It seems you finally got a good one!

no messages at all on the display. weird how the auto parts stores are selling these when theyre not compatible with the vette.

Just curious, Did the various alternators look alike. I got one from O'rilly's, a 145A for a 2002 A4 that I am building. The alt I have looks like a Valeno I'm seeing on eBay.

yeah they all looked the same. the regulators on them was black. the regulator on the GM reman one is a tanish looking color. one thing i did notice though is that all the auto parts store alternators had a bigger pulley on them vs the GM reman one

Thanks for the quick reply. I will cross my fingers and hope this one works when I get mine back together. Otherwise I will be back on eBay.

Sorry you had to go through all this but your experience is already helping others.

yeah ive def learned not to trust the auto parts store alternators. ive heard many say on here that the autozone alternator will work but i had no luck at all with it. the reman GM one off of ebay was the same price as the auto store ones also.

The alt is a fairly strait forward circuit. I wonder what it is that is causing them not to work. You would think that they would have addressed the issue by now.

Oh well.

Yeah, make sure you DON'T tell anyone who you got the eBay one from.

his ebay name is bnrparts. i figured you was just meaning it like i shouldnt say it came from ebay because of how funny some moderators are about things like that. they want you to stay strictly with the vendors on here and not say anything about deals anywhere else
