2001 model year Corvettes are susceptible to the electronic steering column lock problem, if that is what you mean. I am not familiar with the "10 second rule" to which you refer, however. Do you mean the message which appears on the DIC stating "REMOVE KEY - WAIT TEN SECONDS" and then, "SERVICE COLUMN LOCK"? If that is what you mean, yes again, the '01s get it!
According to the posts I've read here, the column lock disease does not discriminate between A4 and MN6 cars from '97 through '01. For these years, it appears to like either one equally well. However, it is only a problem for the MN6/MN12 cars for model year '02, I've heard. I'm not sure about '03 yet. I haven't seen that any of these have locked up, yet.
Hokie, Thank you. There is a story behind it. I Got rear ended by a drunk driver twelve hours after pulling out from the dealership floor. This was my way of making a bad day better. After all, this was my first new vette!

I believe the 01 - 03 A4s do not have the column lock feature.
