Default Airbag sensor question

Ok, let me set the stage again. 1998.
During service, with the steering linkage disconnected, the wheel was turned one revolution one way or the other. Now I get the Active Handling messages.

Right now, I can turn full stop right and left without issue. If I disconnect the linkage and turn the wheel the wrong way , I break the airbag spring. The measurements to center the SWPS are max'ed out, whichever way I turn the wheel, the adjustments start to come into line.

Which direction is the clockspring wound for the airbag sensor? If it was turned 1 revolution to the unwind position, and I turn it another turn in the unwind position, will it still break?

Last resort, I have a used centered SWPS I can have installed.

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Tom
