Default no start will not crank

should have read "Will start but not run !"I've read all about the security issues & the pellet on the back of the key, I neglected to 're wire the low oil pressure sensor on the bottom of the block, I did wire the cpk back and it's correct , anyone know if the low oil pressure sensor connector not wired will cause this 00 vert to not run?

I am pretty sure that the PCM needs an oil pressure signal before it allows the engine to start.

You must mean the low oil level sensor if on the bottom of block. It will not keep the motor from starting or running. Have you used the dic and checked the codes?

the OBD 2 was put in the car with known dtc codes that were current & now the car won't start

the onboard DIC says I have none, but I know they didn't just fix itself

What codes disappeared? Are you sure you are using the dic correctly? Use the instructions in this link. It is vastly superior to any OBD2 reader which will not pick up C5 specific codes.

Maybe you could explain your problem a little better.

Your car CRANKS but the engine will not RUN.

NORMALY ,,, If there is an engine sensor or component that is not allowing the engine to run, it will show up as a DTC. You should ALWAYS READ the DTCs using the cars onboard computer. You should always read the DTCs "BEFORE" you turn off the ignition switch as some DTCs can and will clear at each ignition cycle.

The PCM DOES NOT monitor FUEL Pressure or SECONDARY SPARK.

You should verify that you actually have fuel pressure using a fuel pressure GAGE and that you actually have SPARK at each bank.

IF, the car has a security related issue "VATS or other PCM/BCM issue, you SHOULD see a DTC for those functions

NO,, The Low Oil Level switch OR the Oil Pressure Sensor WILL NOT cause the engine not to run.

My oil pressure sensor showed ZERO OIL PRESSURE (because I had no 5 VDC reference to the sensor) and the engine started and ran fine. I had proper pressure in the engine but the PCM was NOT being told that. She Ran just FINE!
