Well, my car wont start. Its two weeks old, but sat in the showroom for six mos. I left the keys in it by accident the other night, two days ago, and when I came out in the morning it almost didnt start, but did. No more problems, until today, I drove it this morning, no problem, six hours later I got in and tried to start it, got the dreaded click click click. Windows every thing else worked okay. Did I damage the battery the other day? Why would it start fine for two days then today not start? :mad Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, right before I went to start it I put the top down, and as you know this rolls down the windows, I think this might have finished it off.
Why not call the GM dealer? I don't think I would turn a wrench on a brand new car. Let the dealer fix it, and tell them you want a loaner car to drive while your waiting.
Ill check the cables in the morning, they already offered me a loaner car to drive. Im friends with the salesman, they treat me pretty well. I just hate to give up my car for a day. Thanks for the replies, Ill post what happens. If I have to Ill roll start it, should be pretty easy to jump, Im just worried the problem will come back at the worst possible time
:yesnod:
What does the DIC display say battery voltage is before you start it? Shoud be at least 11 volts. If not maybe a charger left on overnight would help. Doesn't make sense it would start for 2 days and then die unless there was a problem with the battery.(maybe a dead cell, in which case charging it won't help)
Sounds like all you need to do is bring your battery up to full charge by putting a charger on it. Be careful when you do, as the new AGM batteries can not stand much in the way of overcharging without damage. They also need to be charged at a reduced rate compared to conventional lead/acid batteries. You might check for charging info in your owner's manual or on the ACDelco website.
since the 2 week old car sat for 6 months  i would bet on a bad battery. if you don't want to leave the car for a day(i wouldn't) just buy a battery and put it in yourself. Then at your convenience return the old one to the dealer for credit, assuming the new one fixes it, of course.
Well, I just went out to see what the voltage said before I tried to start it and it said 11.4 volts, what does this mean? The dealer wants to test the battery to see if its got a problem before they replace it. Thanks for all your help.
If I do replace the battery, which is the best one to replace it with  And where should I get it. :D Thanks
Well, I tried to start it again, the car now says low voltage, and reads 9.5 volts. Should I charge it? What settings should I use on the charger

i have antiques, no c5 yet.
On my cars a 9 v. reading DURING CRANKING is boarderline. Does the DIC read during cranking?
12.6 v. is normal off, and 14.2-14.6 running and charged. my antiques can charge a dead battery while driving around; i don't know about c5's.
Being frugal, when the cranking v. drops below 9 v. i go to wal-mart and get a $29.99 battery. they last 3-5 years. Then you can drop off the battery at the dealer, and if they give you a new one, keep the cheapo for a spare.
Or borrow a needle from work, and inject adreniline into it :jester

It wont really crank, just the click click noise. I think I am going to borrow a friends charger and charge it today, and see what happens. If that doesnt work, Ill try your injection suggestion
Well, to update everyone, I took the battery to an auto parts store to be tested, and possibly charged if still good, they told me the battery was no good. Great, brand new car, dead battery. Acdelco sure makes some good stuff :mad This is the second C5 that Ive had a major problem within two weeks of ownership :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad
Since the Battery is "no good" wont the dealership replace it under warranty? I know this takes some of the luster off of your new car, but overall not too bad.
