Default A/C experts...

My 2000 C5 A/C will run perfectly fine, nice and cold. Eventually, it seems to barely blow much air and it's semi-cool. The cabin will definitely start to become uncomfortable so I turn the A/C off and just let the fan run on vent. The excess cold air then blows out. After several minutes I turn the A/C back on and it's back to normal. The process repeats itself for as long as I'm running the A/C. Any ideas?
