Default C5 thermostat

Has anyone ever replaced the stat on their C5? I would like to drop to a 160 degree stat. I could not find a "how to" on You tube. Just wondering how difficult it is. Thx.

No need to replace the thermostat, it can be modified to open lower. Here is a link: Link

Note, whatever you run make sure the oil temperature gets to a good value. Also, read posts by Evil Twin on the "sweet spot" for temperatures. Running too cold can be more detrimental to the motor.

As for changing the thermostat, it can be done without draining the system if you are quick.

Changing the thermo is literally a 15 minute job. The most time consuming part is filling and bleeding the cooling system afterwards
