LS1/LS6 timing chain dampener
The timing chain dampeners I designed for the Gen III engine have been picked up by a vendor
As some of you may recall, I was building a LM4 and had the holes already drilled for a timing chain dampener but the spacing was wider than the LS2 dampeners. I didn't like my options so I spent several months designing one and working with a plastics company to choose materials.
I was put in contact with Brian Tooley by someone who liked the idea and recognized I needed an outlet. After several months of working with Brian they are listed on his site!!

This is awesome!

BTR is a highly regarded vendor/seller.

I bought one from you earlier, have not mounted it yet, but it appears to be a very high quality part. Wish this was available the last time I had the timing cover off!

I had mine apart a couple of years ago. Even though I wasn't having issues at the time, I replaced my harmonic damper, and since you have to remove some "stuff" to get at it, I pulled the front cover, and installed an LS2 timing chain, while I was in there. I also installed the 'Trick Flow' chain damper, with their adapter bracket, but a factory style damper would have been a "cleaner" installation........

OUTSTANDING!
TTT
If you have the OEM pre drilled dampener holes in the block,,, this is a NO BRAINER install and does make the timing chain and CAM timing much happier!!

You should post up some pictures of an installed dampener!

Question: Is there sufficient width ("thickness") to provide support for double-row chains?

1. During high rpm runs the chain has a tendency to wrap around the gears which can cause premature gear wear and chain failure
2. At sustained RPMs the chain can start to vibrate at a frequency that causes failure.
When I was doing my initial research for designing them I came across a this.

Two things:
1. During high rpm runs the chain has a tendency to wrap around the gears which can cause premature gear wear and chain failure
2. At sustained RPMs the chain can start to vibrate at a frequency that causes failure.
