Does anyone know a way to test the accelerator pedal position sensors? I found a test for other engines but not one for the 5.7L. I keep throwing the sensor two issue, have checked all connectors and grounds. replaced the TAC and the ignition switch. The codes indicate it is the app sensor two. I have pulled the pedal, ordered a different one from vettenuts, but wondered if there is a bench test for this.
GM TECH 2 would have all the sensor out data that you would need to examine on one screen and test the sensor.
Some scanners can read live sensor data but, I don't know if the output resolution will be accurate enough to see a momentary glitch which would set the DTC.
Unfortunately the codes are not thrown consistently. I had it on a tech 2 and because of my lack of knowledge it did not help much. My plan is to replace it, but also want to take this one apart and see what goes. The bench test on a 5.3L or a 6.0L engine, app sensor 2 is to read 1.35 ohms while my 5.7L reads 1.15 ohms between the c and d connector. The Tech 2 simply said sensor 2 was acting up.
Bill and others - I have replaced the pedal and app sensors with a used part from vettenuts. The bench test on the new one showed a smoother response than the original pedal so I went ahead and put it in. All drove fine and no codes. It is a 30 minute pull and swap.
I went back and read the notes you posted in Oct. of 2015. The problem is I don't have a tech2 and well, the shop guys I have been two, really know little compared to the guys on the forum.
I want to explore the guts of the app sensor and see if there is something that those of us without a 4k dollar tool can do.
Just to say thanks to all, but I think my problem is remedied for now.

Nice... be looking forward to the autopsy report on the deceased app sensor... and now I know who to call when I have electrical issues...
