Just picked an 01 vert with 20K miles. Clearly she hasn't been driven much. She has a new battery but I'm getting a charging system malfunction warning on the DIC. hen running the voltage reads between 13.7 to 14.2V it never reads under 12v even on ACC.
I checked the battery terminals and they are tight. Other than a possible deteriorating belt is there anything I should check before I replace the alternator?
Measure the battery voltage DIRECTLY on the battery terminals with a multi-meter and compare it to what the DIC digital Volt reading and the IPC analog volt meter indicate.
Post the findings.
NOTE! DO NOT CHANGE YOUR ALTERNATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
