When I open the drivers door wide on my 02 roadster the electrical power cuts out to the control panel on the armrest.(windows, door locks, and memory) If I move the cover for the electrical harness going from the door to the body it comes back on. What could be loose and where to look?
I'm assuming you're talking about the wires in the accordion. If you separate the accordion from the body you can pull the wires out. There is a connector just inside the body. Check to make sure the prongs in the connector are clean and fit snug in the female end of the connector. If that doesn't help, you will have to chase connections within the door.

You probably have a bent pin in the connector that goes to the door control module. You need to pop out the accordion sleeve between the door and door jamb, pull out the connectors, unplug them and look for a bent pin. Disconnect the battery before doing this. Bill Curlee has posted numerous times regarding this problem. It should be in the stickies under Important Electrical Information.
Go to post #57 in this thread. This is usually the cause of the problem. Posts #77 and 78 have some good info on how to repair the bent pins. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ow-inop-3.html Disregard the earlier posts and pictures stating that the bare wire sticking out of the back of the connector is the cause of the problem. It is not.
If you don't find anything obvious , read the diagnostic codes and post what you find. If there are a lot of old codes reset them and then read them again to see which ones come back after opening and closing the door several times or until the door controls malfunction. You are primarily interested in the BCM codes.
The most likely cause of the issue is some of the FEMALE pins in the six pin power connector are spread apart and the male pins are not making good contact with the female pins. This causes the module to turn ON & OFF,,,ON & OFF,,,ON & OFF,,,ON & OFF,,, and that causes mayhem on the serial data buss or the module just looses power and shuts down.
Examine the female pins in the power connector and look for spread apart female pins..
