torque for waterpump bolts

torque for waterpump bolts
does everybody torque them down to 30 nm (22 lb/ft) as specified everywhere?
it got me thinking. its is a regular 8x1.25 mm bolt. for a 8.8 bolt the max torque is 24 nm, for 10.9 its 36 nm. they have 80 and 100 mpa ultimate strength (64 and 90 yield).
the block supposedly is from a356-t6 with a strenght of around 220 mpa (165 mpa yield).
something doesnt seem right. any thoughts?
