I have a set of CCW T10 18x11.5 wheels and looking for tires. Trying to find 335/30/18 tires. I don't race at all and was looking for a summer tire. I see I'm limited and was wondering about the Toyo R888 tires and Nitto NT555R. Do they last and are they quite, besides they are great for the track? Unless you can recommend a good tire that won't break the bank. Looks like the Michelin PS2 are hard to find and the Pirelli tires are really expensive.
Here is a reply that I provided to another forum member on tire selection:
"I have them on my 02 ZO6. I up-graded my engine HP just a little and the stock width tire just wasn't capable of any traction.
I purchased CCW 505a rims (11.5" wide) and found the 315/25/19 JUST RIGHT for the rears!
They are OUTSTANDING tires! They have very good traction in the summer AND,,,,, they have been the best performance tires I have used yet when the temps are less than ideal. Like here in the north east. For a summer performance tire, they do a GOOD job on cold surfaces. Only all season tires will give you better cold weather traction!
I had Pirelli P ZERO tires on the car prior to these and hated every driving moment. They SUCKED "BAD" !!!!!
The P ZERO stands for ZERO TRACTION!
Here are my tires mounted on the CCWs.
They leave GREAT marks also!
YES,,,, There are more performance oriented tires BUT, they are a NOT going to give you the mileage you normally get out of a set of tires if you drive a lot."
Something to consider. YES,, they are QUIET!
