Default C6 diff parts into c5 diff

A few years ago there was a post https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...-z06-guts.html
about replacing some of the C5 diff parts with C6 pieces by I think ragtoopws6.

Has anyone done this upgrade and what were your results. Does this make the diff seriously stronger? I have 300M shafts and a 17,000 mile Z06 3.42 C5 diff to install in my base 2003 and am considering this procedure when I install a blower. I am on the fence about this as I have no C5 diff knowledge.

Thanks

I couldn't get the link to work but I did this with mine...c6z half shafts, clutches and pinion support, the stronger pinion support helps keep the transmission main shaft from flexing and breaking

I meant output shafts instead of half shafts!

I rebuilt my diff a couple of years ago with C6 Z06 parts after I snapped a passenger side C5 output shaft. I used a write-up I found online that walked me through the rebuild and I was able to rebuild the diff in about two hours, not including removing or installing it back in the car.

I did not replace any bearings or races so I basically poped the diff out, replaced the clutches, springs, and shafts then reassembled. I also was able to purchase the special kentmoore tool ( I think that is who makes it) used off of Ebay for like $17 IIRC.

FWIW, my car makes around 480whp and is mainly used for mountian runs. The carbon clutches seemed to help when powering out of a corner, but my stock clutches were wore slap out so it seemed like a huge improvement. I have had zero issues with it since the rebuild.

Here is a link to RPM Transmissions Stage 4 showing the C6 and other parts used. This is the unit with a Wavetrac differential that I had installed.

I did the same as Deputy Dangle - C6 Z06 carbon fibre clutch packs and HD bevel spring with C6 Z06 output shafts etc.... It's all in a Z06 3 rib housing with the cryo gears etc, about 50 passes hitting a100 shot off the line to mid 10 sec times.... Needs another rebuild for next season though, was starting to have the 1 tire fire last time out.... I take the blame for poor workmanship in the assembly though.....
Previous set up went 8 years and countless passes...

I have the C6 output shafts, C6 Clutches, hardened spider cross shaft, and C6 Believiev clutch springs.

When I disassembled mine I had one cracked spring and the clutches were pretty worn.

Broken spring. Very common!

The entire job was easy and the results are EXCELLENT. It serves 450 RWHP without fail.
