Default removing Borla mufflers

I'm running Borla catback exhaust on my 01. I have an X pipe installed, stock manifolds and cats. My Borla has the quad tips. It's fairly quite until your wide open. I was wondering if anyone removed the mufflers and put a straight pipe in it's place? I was told it's too loud and will backfire on deceleration. Any thoughts before I pull the welder out?

I on straight pipes and happy with it.

I drive my car illegally because I'm a rebel. Lol maybe a loaner idk.

Straight pipes is my taste besides wanting to sound like a NASCAR, now that I would love.

Don't destroy the Borla you have, buy the straight pipes, put them on and if you like them then sell what you have. If you don't want to buy a new setup, then buy some piping and fashion one up, why hack a 600.00 exhaust?

My son put SLP Loudmouths on his Z. Not for me but everyone is entitled to their own taste.

No use ruining a good aftermarket exhaust.
