Default Ignition switch swap

I have an 04 Z06 that was a recovered stolen vehicle. Among other things the ignition switch was damaged. I took the cylinder (not the whole switch, just the cylinder) out of an 02 and put it in the 04. I have the factory service manual and it was a quick and easy job. Now the car doesn't turn over. Do I need to program the ECM or BCM for the different cylinder and key? The FSM doesn't say anything about it - at least from what I have read.

Thanks,

For the 04 take the VIN and proof of ownership to a GM dealer and recover the key code. That will have the resistor chip number(1-15).

Go to a key place with your 02 key. Buy a new key with the 04 resistor chip value and have them grind it to match the 02 key.

Thanks for the help. I believe you have the correct answer. I did a little more reading in the FSM. I ended up taking the resister chip reader off the ignition cylinder and putting it on the 02 cylinder, and putting the combined assembly in the car. That solved the problem.

good for now - thanks for your help.
