Default New trunk deck lid lift struts!

One of the things irritating me slightly about the overall car was how much I had to struggle to get my finger under the deck lid of the trunk to open it after hitting the button. Figuring it would be better than nothing, I searched the cheapest possible option on eBay. 3 days later, my $10.50 purchase paid off and I got a pair of lift struts in the mail. Installed in seconds, and now with a simple press of the button, my deck pops up the perfect amount! Awesome!

That's good to know.
Funny how the parts store wants $60 for struts.

How far up is the decklid supposed to pop up? I've always had to stick my fingers under to lift it up. It stays up it just doesn't pop all the way up to the end of it's travel. I figured that was how it was supposed to work.

Looks like about an inch. Just enough to get your finger under it to lift it. Before, it wouldn't really rise more than a 1/4", so you had to stick your fingernail between the body and the lid to lift it. Now, as you can see in the video, it pops up perfectly.

Sometimes a little lubrication in the latch also helps.

Awesome, thank you!!! What a steal. I have been getting tired of popping my trunk and having to close my door to get the air pressure to help pop it up a little more.

Lol

In retrospect I could have bought them all and sold them for $20!!!

But really, $10.50 for two good struts shipped? Hell, the shipping has to be $3.50 at minimum. What a deal.

If you look in the fitment menu it says they fit. It seems like the hatch would be heavier.

The vert has a similar deck as the FRC like the OP listed.

I don't think he purchased struts....think he got the spring that most of us have.

P.S. Didn't see the link....never saw a Vette part that cheap....thought he got the spring.
