I have a strange problem. My abs fell into the pit that all C5 abs units fall into. So my tc and abs light are on all the time. now my problem is my climate control is dark and doesn't work until the hud chimes and tells me to service the abs. this may happen 5 mins into a drive or 45 mins sometimes i can fell the abs work in a hard brake and then it will chime and the climate control will start working any ideas?
The dim / dark climate control problem is an easy fix if you are willing and able to take the HVAC controller out and do some minor soldering. Search the forum and you will find numerous detailed posts on the fix.
Its not dim or dark it doesn't work at all until the abs chimes. then it works great. how does the abs chime tie into the climate control? it only gives me a code for abs/Tc.

LOL! As weird as it seems, I would suspect that you have an IGNITION SWITCH issue. The contacts inside the switch part are burnt and do not allow proper voltage through the switch contacts for that circuit until the contacts get warm/hot..
Hers a post for you.. You can prove that this is the issue by using a meter and testing the voltage at the mini fuse test points on top of of the fuse. There are TWO small test points on all the fuses. Measure them to CHASSIS GROUND. They should read FULL battery voltage when the switch is ON.
Test the HVAC Fuse and see if it reads LOW when it doesn't work!
