gas guage reading incorrectly
i am sure this has been posted before but i never can find things with the search. my gas gauge acts up immediately after filling up. the needle will go to empty and i get the low fuel warning. it will only do this the day i fill up. also if i hit a bump, it will move the gauge sometimes. when i drive later in the day that i filled up, it will gradually move up from empty. the next day and until i fill up again it will be fine. i tried a bottle of techron and a bottle of seafoam. no luck. may try some bg44k. any thoughts? thanks a lot.

Has the issue a long time ago but the Techtron seemed to straighten it out. Actually myself and a friend fueled at the same Sunoco station, another friend didn't need gas to he passed. Both of us who got Sunoco had the issue. I would also use a Top Tier fuel from this point forward.

this is the first i have seen this issue in my car. i have 148k miles and it is an '03. i always have used 89 octane gas as i really never experienced a difference with anything higher. gas mileage, etc was the same with either. i will try more techron or something. so higher octane gas has more detergents in them? thanks.

I have run nothing but Chevron 94 octane (with Techron) gas since I bought my Z. I have this problem occasionally; only when I fill the tank. Never once otherwise.
Honestly, I simply just don't completely fill my tank except for winter storage time.
