I am going to Stainless Steel Lines and Baer Eradispeed Rotors and need to know what type of Brake Fluid to use. Also where can I get in South Florida or Overnight (reasonable $$) and what is best for everyday street use.
There is another thread on this about a day old. ATE Super Blue is the best bang for the buck. I run Motul RBF 600 but may switch to Brake Man Extreme 600. Here is the link: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zero...097980#4097980 . It is a lot like yours though :seeya
Asking for the "best" is a subjective question, as that begs the question, best for what purpose? ...
If you equate cost with best, then many would say that Castrol SRF at around 78 dollars a litre is the "best. It's certainly got some impressive credentials. Unless you're into serious racing, you may not benefit from its amazing abilities though. Motul 600 is truly excellent and that's sold per pint at around 16 dollars a pint so that's pricy when you convert it to a sensible measure like a litre.
ATE Super Blue or Gold is regarded as as a great value and can be found for less than 9 dollars a litre. I use ATE. Finally, Ford make a cheap, but excellent, heavy duty DOT3 fluid which depending on your application could also be a contender.
Anyway, it seems you said street use, so basically, I'll get flamed I'm sure, but anything that meets GM specs will do fine for the street. There's such a thing as going overboard.
Sorry for the repost, as I could not find the original quickly and needed some advice. I think that ATE Super Blue sounds like the best bang for the buck , and Motul 600 as a backup. Anyone know any large retailers or South Florida shops that keep it in stock. Need soon, Saturday !
LAPD, a forum vendor, carries the ATE Super Blue fluid. They could probably overnight you some. BTW, you probably only need 1 liter to flush the full brake line system.
