I am debating what the best direction is with my build in terms of bang for buck. My current setup is a 416 LS3 with ported 243s, a 220/224 .581/.581 114 lsa cam, FAST 78mm, and JBA shorties. I plan on doing 1 7/8ths long tubes headers and a FAST 102mm regardless of my build direction, but I wanted the forum's advice on whether to install a bigger cam (around a 23x/25x .6xx/.6xx 112 LSA) or invest in nitrous instead. My current setup is making 430rwhp/445rwtq but it is very restricted on the intake and exhaust side. Is the cost of the cam swap worth it, or should I install headers and a the 102mm intake and run nitrous? Trying to decide what the better budget build is
Since you can do the headers and intake without opening the motor and you can install a cam without removing headers and intake, why not install the headers and intake and see where you are then decide on a cam. Would also give you an idea on what the intake and exhaust restrictions were doing to performance.
