Unknown hole and leak in tranny
The tranny was completely rebuilt by LMR. I sent it back to them a week or two after I got it back due to a leak. They checked it and said it was the vent hose and leak is from overfilling. Well its been a few thousand miles and it is still there. So I decided to get under there and look for myself. I have a slow small leak in the tranny still . I found this hole while under. Seems like fluid is coming through it. Also found fluid near the tc plug and around the front of the pan gasket. Had a leak for awhile now. I need some help on trying to figure it out. I am going to call LMR tomorrow (4/12/17) and tell them the problem as well, but I am somewhat discouraged to have them check again and find "nothing". It is still under warranty so I wouldn't pay for anything. I just don feel like dropping it off for a week and driving the two hours to get there. The fluid isn't down the side so I have scratched off the vent hose off the list. Any ideas or anyone see something like this before? I can post a pic of all the things done to the tranny if it helps you guys out, so just let me know.

those are relief passages. some seal in the transmission is bad and leaking fluid into a dry space. Those passages are there to make sure the fluid drains rather than builds up.
I just dealt with one of these on the back of my rebuilt t56 after I accidentally put a seal in backwards.

There are relief holes like that in the front and back of the trans, but I cant tell which is in your pics. The front one could be either the input shaft seal, one of the couple of shift rail seals, or perhaps that big threaded plug on the adaptor plate. It is trans fluid leaking out right?

some sort of leak from a seal or plug in there would be my guess then. In my case, I had a diff fluid leak from the rear relief hole and ended up having the outer seal on the end of the transmission in backwards causing diff fluid to get into the area.

Is it DEXTRON ATF or 90 weight diff lube?
On an A4 trans,, the space between the differential and Trans SHOULD be DRY. There is a SEAL on the Trans tail shaft extension / trans output shaft that keeps the ATF in the trans. The vent hole is there to let you know if one of those seals failed rather than filling up that space.
There is a round aluminum bulkhead that gets installed in the front part of the differential case that has an O Ring seal around the bulkhead plate and an oil seal in the center of the plate where the trans output shaft goes into the diff that also seals around the output shaft.
The 90 weight lube should stay in the diff and ATF should stay inside the trans. If you are leaking ATF Fluid between the trans / diff,, that seal could be bad.

Referencing the picture above, where is yours leaking??
If its at the TT/Trans bell housing, you either have a pump leak, Torque Converter leak or TQ Seal leak
