Default 2002 c5 - reduced engine power / passenger door controller issues

i have a 2002 that all of a sudden started receiving "reduced power" warning. After driving for 300 plus miles the last few days it started. I restart the car and all issues go away and it runs like normal. Then it would happen again (ac turns off, radio, dash light warnings come on....

i recentlyy replaced the battery.

All of these issues once the passenger side door controls stipped working. I saw that sometimes when the door control module goes bad it can backfeed to the computer and start having other issues.

I reset the codes and below are ones that i have:
a1-rdcm (no communication)
P1626 theft deterent sustem
U1301 class 2 circuit shorted to battery
U1016 loss of communication to ecm
U1096 loss of communication to ipc
U1255 serial data malfunction
U1064 loss of communication to bcm
U1040 loss of communication to tcs
U1088
U1176 loss of communication with rfs
U1160 loss of communication with ldcm

Any ideas on where to start? Also any recommendations of the replacement parts for passenger door control module?

The battery gauge shows 13.5-14 volts. Could it be a bad alternator and replacement of the passenger control module?

Get your battery tested the gauge only shows that your alt is charging.

next time you get the codes, pull over and open the driver's side door and see if you have control. If it works, then the problem in I'm the wire harness to the driver's side door.

Worth a try, since my car does the same thing

If not one of the above then have the alternator checked. It is one of the easiest things to remove from the engine. A belt, two bolts, un-clip the wire harness and the positive cable.

The class 2 serial data codes are a bit unusual.

USUALLY,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, When this happens, it is caused by the door wiring harness (specifically the connector that carries the power and ground wires for the door module.

The female pins get damaged (heat & vibration) and the little tong inside the female pins spread and no longer make positive contact with the male pin.

The module turns ON & OFF, ON & OFF, ON & OFF, ON & OFF, and that causes the serial data buss wire for that module to corrupt the main SERIAL DATA BUSS that ALL the other modules are connected to.

Here is an example of some SPREAD APART FEMALE PINS in that connector:

The pin in the TOP ROW (center) is the worst ones.

That may be the problem with my mirrors.
Do you know what size female pins they are by chance?

Thanks Bill.

PINS

I needed some pins for a C5 connector and I found them in two places.

1- Look at NAPA. They usually carry a connector repair kit that they have in the back. Its a VERRY LARGE KIT and they sell the pins separately

2- A Chevy dealer in my area had the same kit BUT, they want an arm and a leg for each pin.

Give that a try. Also call your local auto parts stores and see if they have a pin kit.
