Little help please,,,i am getting code 1416 ,, dealer said this was emissions related " stuck emissions valve " . the check engine lite comes on now and then . i reset the code and all is fine. . my question is ,,,,, if the code has been reset and the check engine lite is off will i pass emissions. dealer wants 500 to remove intake. cant afford that right now. car runs fine. is it true if there is no check engine lite on it will pass?

Resetting the code also resets the Emissions Ready indicators to NOT READY until a specific set of conditions occur to reset them again to READY. Depends on whether your states laws as to whether NOT ready will get by. My guess is NOT READY will cause them to turn you away until the appropriate drive cycle sets them READY again.

thank you for your help ..have had car for 15 ys. and found out long ago i should stay out of the engine bay.. its not a 327 where you can see the plugs . have Paul from Jackson Chevy for the engine but the cost right now is out of budget.
