looking for help on replacing my original tires on my 2003 50th anniversary roadster. Original Goodyear Eagle F1 EMT(run flats)Front: P245/45 ZR 17; Rear: P275/40 ZR 18. Got 30,000 miles plus on them, and time to replace but find limited options in these sizes.
1. what tires do you recommend and why?
2. given limited availability, I'm starting to rethink replacing with run flats and instead going with traditional tires and carrying an air compressor and a can of sealant--what are your thoughts on this?

I recommend ditching the run flats, going with non-runflat tires, and carry the patch kit/air compressor/emergency road service on your insurance.
I run the Hankook Ventus V12 tires on my C5 and have so for better than 7 years (right after I bought the car). They have provided a great ride and handling, as well as very low road noise and a really good price point for four tires.
I run the sumitomo htr-z tires, I only have about 2500 miles on them but for the price I don't think they are too bad of a tire for just daily use, haven't had them on a track so I do t know how they do track wise. But for just regular every day driving I like them.

Do you still like these and how is the road noise?
Thanks
I spent DAYs researching replacement tires for the wife's 2011 Grand Sport. I know its a C6 BUT, tires and tire quality are the same across the C5/C6 platform. I purchased the Michelin Pilot Super Sports "NON RUNFLATS" for her car.
When your WIFE complements you on the tire selection you made for HER car, something must have gone right. She's no GRANDMA DRIVER and puts tires and the car through their paces.
They are MUCH MORE QUIET than the OEM runflats, they handle like a dream and have excellent reviews! Give them a look see!!!
I have Toyo T1Rs (Non Runflats) on my 02 ZO6 and they have worked EXCELLENT. Good wear, excellent grip wet of dry and very quiet! Couldn't ask for a better tire. Excellent performance tire!
From my own personal experience, with the 12 volt compressor and sealant. If you catch the leak before the tire goes down, you might be okay. If it's a sudden loss of air pressure or you can't pull off safely for a ways, you most likely will unseat the tire bead. Those small 12 volt air compressors do not have enough oomph to reseat the beads and will never inflate the tire. If going non run flats, keep the phone number of a mobile tire repair company handy. They rescued me with my work truck.
With my vette, I was fortunate and the previous owner had just put on a new set of Michelin ZP's. I've never had a set of run flats before. They seem better than I thought they would.
I have the OEM summer only run flats on my C7 and will eventually make the decision to move to an all season. Michelin will offer an all season run flat reportedly near the end of this year, even though I am not completely satisfied with Michelins. Had to replace 3 all seasons on my daily driver TL at less than 15k miles. I'm leaning toward moving away from the run flats but am watching closely for Michelin competition.
