Default Understanding A/C (Merged from C5 Gen)

I have read in a couple different post that if you are low on R134 it will allow the passenger side to be cold but not on driver side. I would think if one side is cold they would both be cold. Do both side get the cold air from same source. Im confused or are those other posts not correct. Thank you in advance.

If you have a dual Zone system, the way the evaporator is layed out in the Air Box causes that issue.

YES,,, If the R-134 is low, it can cause one side to be warm.
The passengers temp **** only reduces or raises the passengers side +- 10% of what the main cabin outlet air temp is set to on the head unit.

The Air door actuators are monitored by the BCM and if they are not working properly they will set a DTC.

it is possible. what happens is theres just enough refrigerant to get only about half of the evaporator cold once it gets past that point its all evaporated already so theres no heat exchange in the second half. the blower fan blows over the evaporator and the air is then routed through a couple ducts. it just so happens that most of the time the first half of theevaporator is situated over the duct work for the passenger side.

note: this is just general a/c info, not corvette specific.
