I have a 02 vette-- every time I start the car I hear a knocking sound from the engine the sound is about twice a second when idleing it lasts for about a minute then it goes away, I have 3000 miles on the car and no mods. should I be concerned or what can I do to give you more information on this or to pin point what it might be ??
No it does not increase with higher rpm or maybe I just dont hear it because of the higher engine noise , but like I said it does go away after about a minute.
What you have is..........well, a corvette, and its gonna make some noises :yesnod: Seriously though my red vert did that, I think Its just the lifters filling with oil, or could be the fuel injectors, I dont really know
Lifters, injectors, piston "slap", exhaust leak, emission systems valve, etc. ....... Unless it gets worse, you are probably OK, as all of these have been know to cause the noise and are "normal", according to the General's techs. What weight oil are you using? If it is a lifter, changing back to a 5W-30 or 0W-30W would help. :yesnod: :)
