I was at a friend house and when I was ready to leave my headlights wouldn't pop up! I tried for 10- 15 minutes. (didn't raise the hood), All the other lights worked, throwing NO codes..When I went back the next morn to get my vert, the headlights worked fine! The headlights always has taken 2 to 10 seconds to pop up after I turn the switch, I thought this was normal?
After reading 70+ pages of posts, I'm thinking it is the Headlight Control Module? My questions are: Does it sound like the Headlight Control Module? Is the car driveable with the Headlight Control Module removed? Do I really have to spend $650 for a new Headlight Control Module, or can they be repaired?
I have a '98 vert, with 77,000 miles. Last year I replaced the ignition switch & resoldered the hvac control lights.
Thankx in advance for your help!!

Whatever your problem is.... headlight control modules sell used for $100....contact Marc at VetteNuts.net
Thankx for your reply! I didn't use the manual raise **** because I didn't realize that they need to be turned 20+ times (I did try 5 turns) and I had a ride home, so it was not major that I drove home (1st time in 5 yrs that the car has been outside at night).
But they worked fine the next morning when I went back to get the car!
Just read a thread in the C5 General forum(https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...headlight.html) that suggested a similar problem as yours that there may be a dead spot in the headlight electric motor because of lack of use. Maybe exercise the light a little may fix it.
Thankx for your reply. I drive the Vette every Sat & Sun to work and I return home when it is dark! How many times a week should I turn the headlights on?

Do not know. I was just referencing someone having a similar issue. If you drive a lot at night then maybe a "dead zone" motor issue is not yours. I do not drive at night but I do exercise my lights because of this possible dead zone issue. Just tying to help.
