I have an issue with DIC and HUD back lights staying on. If the bulbs are removed will that stop the drain on the battery. I don't see the need for them for me anyway or will it cause the BCM to stay powered up

Any LIGHTs that stay on, most likely have a BCM issue and YES, it will most likely cause the BCM to remain in the ON mode and not go to sleep.

Pull the IPC fuses and see if the BCM enters sleep mode and the battery current drops below 20 milliamps.. (0.020 amps..)

I will check that when I get off work. Just a thought can this function be flashed out of the BCM since some have HUD and some don't. The 99 models are hard to come by or is there someone who repairs them.

NO.... The HUD is a plug and play that actually just plugs into the top of the IPC. It gets all its signals and power from the IPC. You can just remove the HUD Module.

Ok so the back lights for the buttons on the DIC pull from the HUD module or BCM
