Default LS6 Manifold Port?

Anyone found or see the need to port an LS6 intake manifold? I know many ppl port LS2, but have not seen much about porting an LS6. Going to do a swap form LS1 to LS6 and wanted thoughts for planning purposes.

Thanks.

Not a lot of meat on the bone of a LS6 intake near the cathedral port and gasket.

I sold a buddy of mine my 02 ZO6 Intake manifold. Just out of curiosity (to see what I could get out of it), I told him I would port it for him.

Gathered up ALL my porting stuff and went to work.

I was absolutely surprised at the LACK of stuff to port.

You can SMOOTH each intake runner opening a bit and do just a little port matching. Honestly, it really wasn't all that much.

I got a bit more out of the TB opening. You have to be careful when you open up the bottom portion of the opening. On the under side of the intake is webbing and the plastic in that area is THIN. If you open the bottom portion of the opening up you can break through. I did break through BUT,,, all I did was clean and ruff up the under side web area where it broke through, fill that web portion with JB Weld and keep on porting.

You can remove the inner intake supports and do a little smoothing inside.

I did port the HELL out of my FAST 90 though!! Made a MAJOR DIFFERENCE!!
