OK guys and girls. I'm not going to ask a repeat I thread that has been done in the ground over and over but having an issue with my driver side AC actuator. When I took it out I noticed there was some prongs on the AC actuator but it did not have a wiring harness . Is the driver side AC actuator held on to the side just buy two screws? Or is there a wiring harness attached to it somewhere?
That was what I was thinking to because 1.) there is a area on the actuator that has the electrical prongs that looks where a wiring harness would go and 2.) how would the head unit send the impulse to tell it to open or close.
But I have looked all through the drivers side of that dash and see no harness. Do you have or no where I could find a picture of what the wiring harness looks like or even hooked up to it? I have googled pics by still don't see one.
OK, went back out here to look in finally found the wiring harness that it attaches to. There is also a little too prong pigtail harness that attaches to something probably but do you have any idea of where that little smaller one goes?

Possibly goes to the inside temp sensor? If you look to the right
of your ignition there is grill. Behind it is the inside temperature sensor that uses a 2 pin connector. Take a look there.
I thought that at first but I see it . This one is attached to the wiring harness for the actuator where the temp sensor is separate. I got to thinking, would it go to an option my corvette didn't come with? And it's just there, like I was thinking it went to a telescoping option that my car doesn't have and if I wanted it, then there was an option just for that plug. I just hate to put everything back together and find out it was supposed to be plugged to something
Well, got the a/c actuator plugged in and working. Everything seems to be working fine . Call a GM dealership and the best they could tell me is that there are miscellaneous pigtail plugs that go to assessory if the car had that particular assessory. They seem to think it was what I was thinking as well being a telescoping steering column connector which my car does not have
That goes to the sensor on the drivers side of the defrost vent in the upper middle of the dash near the base of the windshield. I know because I just came in the house from replacing both of my AC actuators. HVAC codes are all gone now!

Thanks man. I will pull the cluster back out tomorrow and see if I can find it.
is it easily seen once I get back in there to plug it in? I just changed out my drivers side so didn't need to pull the dash pad .
04silverZ06: yes that code is related to the driver's side actuator. Best if you do a search using "B0361" as you can try pulling a fuse and resetting the actuator before trying to replace it. I just do not remember the fuse number for sure.
Access is a bit painful depending upon your body size; under the dash, head against the pedals, no light, only able to use one hand, etc, etc.
I pulled the instrument cluster out to fix my intermittent tach and removed the seat; both of these gave me additional room and light but not necessary (again depending upon your body size).
After removing the bottom dash trim panels, remove the BOSE control unit, and then there are two tiny screws and one electrical connector on the actuator. Suggest having the new one in-hand before doing this. RockAuto has them at a pretty good price.
I removed the actuator from my '04, took it apart and all looked fine, no broken gears or anything. I added some grease to the gears and re-installed it. Got the same B0361 error so I ordered a replacement. However before it arrived the original actuator "fixed" itself and has been fine ever since....about three months now. So I have a new actuator sitting on the shelf....along with a new MAF that I had the same experience with.
It seems that all you have to really do is spend time with your Corvette, taking out parts that have set an error code, fondle them, clean them, talk to them, order a replacement, re-install the original part. By the time the replacement part arrives, the original one "fixes" itself and all is good....except you are out the funds for the replacement part. I have not tried returning the replacement part, so do not know if that will cause the original part to fail again or not....I just add it to my new parts shelf.
Good luck.

The passengers side , you have to take the dash pad off to get to and the drivers side thank goodness you don't. I just changed my drivers sides and just pull the gauge cluster out and you will be able to see it. It has two screws holding it on. The front screw you will see and is easy to get to, the second screw is unseen but felt and with a little finesse, I use a quarter inch ratchet and small socket and came right out
Lol. He is right about that. I pulled mine apart after I put the new one and expected the teflon gears to be broke or cracked but they looked brand new. I should I have resetting codes but dealership was so sure it was the actuator and head unit. Head unit works great so def saving my old actuator as a dust collector
Hey lanny, did your z06 come with both sensors at the window defroster ?

I'm getting P0361 too. I'm going to try to pull the fuse (fuse #27) and if that doesn't fix the issue replace the drivers side actuator. My ac and everything seems to work fine so I have no idea why I keep getting this code.
