My 2001 corvette is throwing error code p1416 and the chevy dealer wants $450 to replace the passenger side check valve. Other than the irritating CEL light on, is there any harm caused if the valve is not replaced?
Continuation of passenger side air check valve saga
First - thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
I was very uneasy about removing/ replacing intake manifold and fuel rails. You would not believe how many simple jobs I have screwed up 😣. So I went to Chevy dealer in Northern ohio and was quoted $412 to replace valve. However 'vette mechanic said no real need to since it is only for cold weather startup and would not hurt anything if I just left alone -which I did. I did try the throttle body/WD 40 treatment but light came back on in a couple of days.
Drove 1300 miles to Florida ( with CEL light shining brightly for 18.5 hours) where I will leave it until next May.
Suddenly, after a few days in area just south of Fort Myers Fla, the CEL went off on its own and has not come back on after a couple of weeks.😎😂 Not sure why. But happy it went off😛!
Any further thoughts would be appreciated.

Have them tuned out...What I did, then removed all the lines. Put blocks in place on the Ex. manifolds, or /as I did replace stock Ex. with headers... Then sent ECM/PCM TO CHUCK COW for tuning. Lov the sound and the tune....
