Default Clutch help

Ended up blowing the slave last week, dealer says they very strongly suggest changing clutch and all other pieces while they are in there. Quoted me $1900 for everything unless i source parts cheaper it will be about $1000 plus my parts. What should i look for? Auto parts store has tbem for just under $300 which is less than half of GM price

How do you use the car? Any performance upgrades? (cam, etc)

It's a big job so definitely wise to replace the clutch while you're at it.

I'm planning to do a Monster clutch, light weight flywheel, new slave cylinder, and remote bleeder. runs about $790 from Tick Performance.

The remote bleeder lets you change the clutch fluid when it gets dirty... which is frequent in these cars. Probably part of the reason your slave died.

It might also be worth calling around to a few GM performance shops in your area to get a quote on the labor, just to compare.

There are OTHER things that need to be checked and repaired while you are ding a clutch

Torque Tube rubber couplers and differential seals

Find a corvette shop and go with them. Dealer gouges you on LABOR and parts.
