I switched from the Halltech TRIC (One Piece w/Z900 Filter) and COBRA tunnel to the LAPD HiFlow AirDuct and the VARARAM system w/foam filter.
The kit was really damn easy to install. I didn't use any shims and it all went it like a champ. Fit and finish are perfect. I had no problems in alignment or fitment issues with the Vararam.
I just went out for a spin in it w/the new VRAM (my nickname for it :D ) and it pulls much much harder all the way up than my previous TRIC intake. I was at 75MPH in 3rd, depressed the clutch revved it to about 5200RPM and dumped it and it broke loose and slung me forward. My SOTP meter is horrible and even I can tell a difference.
Once I get a good relearn I'm gonna ATAP my MAP settings and compare them to see how much of an increase I got out of it. I'll get some N/A track times with it in a few weeks, also.
Thanks to John77 for selling me the VRAM for such a great price. Believe it, the VRAM is pretty kick butt. I'll have some substantiated proof in a few weeks when I get time to run it at the track ;)
I can't keep up with you. (In my best Wil Smith voice) "Now I gotta get me one a deez!"
I gotta fix my empty cats with straight pipes first....
Next I gotta get my frigging Autotap back from being fixed..
Then I can really start having some LS1-Edit fun!!
Oh yeah my dealer is gonna put on the LS6 Intake 1st
I'll probably order one of these soon too. I gotta get back to the track and get some good baseling data first. Still to hot over here to get any good numbers. I was all set to go yesterday and out of no where came an 85 degree day. My only question is that this product takes off tenths of a second in the 1/4....how can your SOTP meter feel such a little difference. I know i wouldnt be able to feel a .2 difference. No offense or anything i just find it strange how everyone who puts a filter on their car says how much harder it pulls when your gaining just about nothing(yes i know tenths are important but what about the people just driving on the street).

It just feels stronger through the RPMs. Maybe it's in my head but to me, it feels stronger. That's always a plus, IMO. ;)
Chuckster, let me know how you like the LS6 intake. I know you will ;)
It'll be awhile before I get to the track fellas but I'll keep you updated :D
