2001 Z06 4th gear
I have a 2001 Z06, 47,000 miles, all stock except for air intake and C6 Z06 shifter. The Z has been sitting since May. I took it out yesterday and noticed a little grind going into 4th at any speed. Also the shifter got stuck in 4th a couple times, I had to wiggle it around to get it to move out of 4th. I've owned the Z for the last 9 years. It was completely serviced, all fluids changed by the dealer last year. I don't drive it much a little over 4,000 miles in 9 years. You guys think shifter or trans? Thanks, Bill

So yesterday I took the Z06 to the shop to get checked out. On the way it got stuck in 4th several times. At one point I had to pull over,.thought I was going to need a tow. By the time I made it to the shop it was like shifting through a bag of marbles. Can't wait to see this Bill...

Hmm,,, Check the shifter to lower shift box mounting and the linkage connections for damage/ looseness and foolery.

odds and I agree with Bill.
How long has it been since the clutch fluid has been changed? I know you said all fluids but did they bleed the clutch?

plastic
Unless you were shifting with your FEET, I do NOT see how the shift fork would have bent! Did you try to force the shift?
Have you ever see one?
The little plastic pads that fit over the ends of the forks usually break. That what gives people trouble.
I can see how the gear and synchro would get hosed due to the incomplete sfift throw thus grinding.

a bad slave cylinder will put more force on the shifter forks if it isn't ready to go into gear due to not fully disengaging the clutch. I would definitely change it while you already have the trans out for cheap insurance and install a remote bleeder while you're at it.

Like I stated, it just may be damaged or missing fork slider pads. vise being BENT!
Check out the old parts and see if its really bent. I would LOVE to really know what caused your issues. Ask of the old parts. Make great desk ornaments..
