Default Tac issue

2000 C5. On way home from a club run last Saturday my tac started to bounce from 0 to 2500 rpm. Some times it would just be 0 and the HUD was fluctuating the same. Other times it was reading normally on gage and HUD
Any idea where to start looking

IF,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the ONLY thing that was having issues was the TAC, then I would say it is IPC and or PCM related.

Here is a schematic for the IPC/TAC As you can see it is NOT connected directly to any sensor. The signals come from the class 2 serial data buss.

Do you do any PCM Tuning or used any tuning software recently?

You could have a corrupted serial data circuit.

Pull your DTCs using the DIC and list what appears.. If there are a TON of DTCs, clear them all and them report what comes back.

PCM P0654 Engine Speed Output Circuit.


The LDCM B2284H tells me that you are having an issue with low battery power some time during an ignition ON period. If it were ME, I would have the battery tested. You can try to fully charge the battery and then CLEAR ALL THE DTCs and see where you are at.

The C5 DOES NOT like low battery power.

Are you sure that you read the LDCM B2252H correctly?
