Default Battery for winter vehicle

In a month or so I get to drive this bad boy.
It's been sitting since March, and the (what I'm pretty sure is the) original battery is completely dead, won't accept a charge at all. I have a newer AGM battery in my Z. I'm kinda thinking about using the battery in the van for the winter, and throw it back into the Z come spring time when the van goes away again.
Any negatives about the car sitting with no battery at all for the winter? I know some people pull theirs anyway.
Is it better to store a battery on a tender, or use it daily thru the winter?
I know, one might suggest to just buy a new battery for the van, and I might. But I drive one or the other, not both; the car goes off the road, van goes on, and vice versa.
Thoughts? Which is better for the life of the battery?

As have I every year so far, just wondering; using it during the winter may be beneficial?

The OWNERS MANUAL recommends removing the battery for EXTENDED STROAGE Periods. NO PROBLEMS!!

I Usually swap batteries from a newer car to an older less used beater car when the newer car needs a battery.

Sure, put that battery in a daily driven car and when it is needed in the Vette, swap it out if it is still a good battery. Have it tested before you put it back in the Vette. The C5 needs a proper fully functioning battery to work properly!!!

Its better to fully charge a battery and USE IT. The cars alternator will keep it properly topped off during daily use.

I store my car from December through March and just keep the battery connected to a Battery Tender Plus. No problems doing that so far.

Bought the battery recently, this year I think. But that seems like the best plan.

Ah beautiful winter; glistening trees, fresh air, head to the hills... ah who am I kidding. Wish I could head to Hawaii every winter.

Winter - that's when your temp is in the 70s instead of the 80s!
I think moving your battery to your van during the winter is a reasonable move. (Although after spending two years in Labrador, even BC winters look doable).

That's the time of year when we get a couple feet of snow, spread out over a month, instead of 100 MPH winds, and 10" of rain, in the space of 2-3 days...........

(sorry, I couldn't help myself)
