You will get a lot of different opinions on this topic. Here are my thoughts. I have tried Michelin Pilot Sports, Goodyear Eagle F1s, and now Hankook Ventus V12 EVOs. By far the best tire I have run on my C5s has been the Hankooks. Very good handling and ride, low road noise, and a reasonable price all makes the Hankook a good buy.

Thanks for the info. Just recently purchased a C5, the front tires are ok but the rear tires will need to be replaced soon, I will check out the Hankook prices on Ebay & some of the merchants in my local area.

I run the v12s too. Howvere an alignment issue caused me to replace the rears. Now have Kumho ps91 on the back. The treadware rating is 260. They feel really good even on a road course. Might have to get v12s again next year.

I recently installed Toyo Proxes T1 Sport on all four wheels. These are great tires. Bought them off of ebay from a tire shop in Florida as at the time they were the only place I could find the Z06 wheel size. You might want to check out the Toyo's and look at some of the discussion on them in the Z06 area. They are not winter tires though, so if you drive year round that may be an issue for you.

I replaced my run flats with Kumho tires all the way around. They are much better than run flats however they are made in Korea. Something about putting Korean tires on a Corvette that doesn't feel right.

Loved the Goodyear F1GSD3s...but they don't make them in OEM sizes anymore. Have about 10K on Nitto 550s and they are just as good

Newest Michelin, the 4S replaces the Super Sports which are being discontinued. Getting excellent reviews. I am planning to buy them for the new wheels I have ordered. I have had Michelin PS2's which were excellent tires, unfortunately ultra expensive. They are now being phased out of production.

I purchased as set of these low cost Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires a couple of months ago. Put together a video to share my thoughts.

If I would live in an area where it rarely gets below 50 degrees or I only dove the car on nice days at 60+ temps, I would run either BFG Rival S or Bridgestone RE71R tires. Outstanding handling, very good in the wet, decent comfort etc. The are a 200 treadwear tire so they will lack mileage. Since I only drive 3000 miles a year, they will need to be replace because of age (5 years max) before they wear out.

A couple of cautions, you will stop a little quicker, for 20 minute HPDE sessions they will get slightly greasy midway through, and you will think you are a better driver than you really are because they handle so well.

I can't tell from your profile but I think you mean non-Z06 stock sizes. THat means no fun tires like Rivals, RS4s, Star Specs, etc...

Since you asked strictly for street use those probably aren't what you are looking for anyway. For a strictly street tire the Hankook V12s are probably what I would buy. (I've had 2 sets of the old version and now the new version on my wife's TSX.) Good street tire.

That said- I did not like the sidewalls on the V12s on my previous car for autocross. Since I couldn't get any fun 200TW tires in stock sizes I bought the Nitto NT555 G2s. The were mediocre at autocross but turned out to be a fantastic street tire. Just got back from a trip to the Outer banks, NC and ran through a monsoon on the way down. The storms were so bad we actually had an EF1 tornado about 20 blocks from my house the night before! Large amounts of water on the PA Turnpike and no issues at highway speeds at all (I would have died on Rivals at regular speed in those conditions.) Although not made for it (AT ALL) we even hit some mid-20's temps around Somerset, PA on the way back (snow but none on road) and even then I only slowed down a little bit just in case. They didn't feel as bad in those temps as they should have for a non-"all season" tire.
I wouldn't buy them for autocross but they seem to be another very good street tire option for a C5. I actually bought them on Amazon.......yeah, Amazon. I didn't even know they sold tires....

Looked at these but didn't like the temperature cutoff on when they can be driven.
